When we started Gridle 6 years ago, which is now ‘Clientjoy’, naming the product was not on the top of priority list. We just wanted a name that was small, simple and rolled off the tongue well. When we came up with the name, we had a pretty sleek explanation for it as well. It went something like this:
Gridle as a word is derived from ‘Grid’. Since we were into helping teams and companies collaborate better, we were essentially connecting people into a Grid and our product was thus called Gridle. Another upside of the same was that the word did not mean anything. Which meant that our name would get associated with the meaning that we assigned to it.
However, this came with a set of it’s own challenges.
- People would often misspell our name to GriDDle or Gridel
- Google felt that when someone was looking for Gridle, they actually meant something else
- It did not reflect what we had become through both quantum and incremental improvements in our offerings

We had considered changing our brand identity a couple of times but we never came around to actually doing it until now.
The core reason of why we are doing it now is because we need an identity that reflects what we do and who we are.
Our Mission is to help Agencies serve their Clients better.
It’s not our work-life. It’s our life’s Work.
It is important that our identity reflected that. Thus, Introducing Clientjoy.io
The whole reason why we started building our Product was because as an IT Service Agency for over 6 years, we realised that Agency-Client relationship was broken. It was fragmented and Siloed across multiple tools and platforms including Sales CRM, Proposal Software, Project Management Suite, Invoicing Tool and Manual reconciliation.
More than 95% agencies globally are 30 people or less and they cannot afford to have their own custom platform built and because of the fragment experience, they end up losing a referral or in some extreme cases, client itself.
We help Agencies create Joyful experiences for their Clients across their life-cycle. Starting from them being just potential clients (leads) to them receiving proposals, signing contracts, collaborating over Projects, asking for support and receiving & paying invoices.
We firmly believe that Agencies should be rewarded for the ‘work’ they do for clients and should not have to spend the amount of time and energy they do into ‘managing’ their clients.
Here’s a detailed look at our new Identity.
Gridle is now Clientjoy from Gridle
Over the next few weeks, we will be refreshing our identity across all platforms that we’ve been a part of. We’ve been Gridle for over 6 years and so it might take some time for the new identity to kick in; please bear with us during this transition.
When we look at clientjoy.io, we feel that everything that our work means to us and our customers, we are now able to better say it. It helps us express everything that we stand for, and work towards, both internally and externally.
